About austinTech.org:

We are a loosely organized group of Church Technical people from churches all over central Texas who meet several times a year to help each other out, share ideas and get to know others who do what you do. This is a great place for church tech staff and volunteers, from all levels and backgrounds, to gather and share what they know and to learn how they can go the next step in their ministry. We only grow if you will reach out and invite someone! If you know of someone in the technical ministries at another church, don’t assume they already know about this meeting! Get a hold of them and bring them with you!
Over the years this group has blessed many church media & tech volunteers and helped improve their ministry through learning, encouragement and ideas. To facilitate this:
•    Meetings / fellowships will be held every month on the last THURSDAY or FRIDAY of the month.
•    We will incorporate more training and new product sessions into every meeting where possible or practical.  We will be inviting manufacturers and reps to show us equipment and tools that we can use in our ministries, offer training sessions thru manufacturers and outside consultants, trainers and media ministry leaders.
•    We will only have church facility tours at some of the meetings,  other meetings will be much more focused on training and equipment.
•    Will will try to have something for everyone covering as many areas of church media and technology as possible – Audio / Video / Lighting / Projection as well as graphic arts and other areas.
Watch for more emails about these events – if you haven’t already, make sure your email address is registered at austinTech.org (sign up for the email list), tell others who might be interested about these meetings (go ahead, forward them this email right now!) and mark your calendar now and plan on attending.

Meeting

February 25th Gathering at Shoreline01 Mar

We had a great evening together at Shoreline. David Cherry and his team started the evening with a showing of one of their original videos.

Then they fired up all their auditorium systems and showed their video announcements and music videos. One of their musicians played and sang for us. The light show was outstanding.

David led us on a tour of their facilities: the auditorium, the control room, backstage and the kids’ rooms. The fellowship and food was, as always, wonderful. We had 43 people in attendance from 19 area churches.

Our next gathering is March 25th at Omega Broadcast emphasizing supporting larger productions and services such as Easter. It will include and audio session, video session, and stage lighting session. Watch the website for more info as we finalize details for this meeting.
